It’s fracking amazing!

Battlestar Galactica…

Need I say more? NERD!!! Why haven’t I been patiently waiting for each episode for years? This show rocks. The filming is so well done. The space scenes are to die for, and I love the sound effects of the battles in space. Oh, and if you didn’t realize I was a total nerd before now…

I love DVD’s. I can watch an entire years worth of episodes in one week. I probably will too. Productivity has just went to hell thanks to Battlestar Galactica.

Frack…
Fracking…

LOL… I’ve used both before. I’ve also used Freak and Freaking. I do live in Utah. We tend to censor ourselves here.

And so she ran…

Published by Bridge under bridge

Last Friday I ran on a treadmill. Exactly two weeks ago from today.

It was such an important moment for me. It has been more than 6 months since I have been able to do any aerobic activity. Over four months since my surgery.

It felt WONDERFUL.

I was only allowed to run for two minutes, but now I can very slowly try to run a little bit more. In the next two months I should be able to get up to 5 minutes. (Yes I know that is VERY slow, but I really don’t want to have surgery again.)

Yeah for me!

Karate/Gymnastics/Karate/Gymnastics Scouts/Scouts Oh, and Piano!

Published by Bridge under bridge

This year my kids are busy after school. My son wanted to take Karate. My daughter wanted to take Gymnastics. I wanted them to take Piano. They are both also in scouts. Surprisingly they both still have a lot of free time. I am trying to pack everything in on just two/three nights a week to give them days off. So far they both have Mondays, Fridays, and the weekend completely clear. They are also both in activity heaven.

The karate class my son takes wants you to come at least twice a week. With your tuition you can actually go up to 4 times a week. Last week my son went three times, and only because he wanted to. How cute is it that he asked to go the extra day? Pretty dang cute.

The gymnastics class my daughter takes looks like a blast. She loves it. She wishes she could go more often, but it isn’t available unless I want to do private lessons. No thank you for now.

Piano is taught by one of my customers named Tiffany. She is located in Logan and has great rates. She also works great with my kids. If anyone wants their kids in Piano just contact me for her info. She is still taking a few more students.

I’ll get some photos up here soon! I will also get rates/info about the programs to anyone who needs the info. Just let me know.

Labor day… the day I get to work… a lot…

Published by Bridge under bridge

Today I am photographing two weddings. Yeah, I am nuts. I promise myself every time I shoot two weddings in one day that I will NEVER do it again. Well never happens to be today.

Will I ever learn?

Photographing a wedding is a lot of work. Both mentally and physically. By the end of today I will be EXHAUSTED. I love doing it though. Most photographers shun weddings. I thrive on them.

Congratulations to both of my happy couples! I wish you a wonderful life together.

Happy Birthday Jasmine!

Happy Birthday Jasmine!

(ISN’T SHE A HOTTIE!)
self-portrait-9

Jasmine is my sister-in-law, and she is sooooooooo freaking talented. She can draw, paint, sing, play piano, and make jewelry, ext. It is all so beautiful and she makes it look effortless. I asked for a picture of a mermaid and she had one drawn within minutes.

Jasmine is a makeup artist, photographer, jewelry maker, and a wonderful mother to my nephew and niece. If you see a really good photo of me there is an almost 100% chance that she is the one that took it.

If you want to see her work you can go to her blog at: www.glooart.com. Trust me… you won’t be disappointed. She also sells jewelry on her site. Just look for the etsy link on the right side. You should also go wish her a Happy Birthday and tell her that I sent you. She has needed some cheering up!

Oh, and Jazz… I love putting up blackmail photos. Even if they are of myself. Apparently…

10th Year Wedding Anniversary… Cancun!

Published by Bridge under bridge

(MAX AND BRIDGE – PLEASE IGNORE THE CLEAVAGE)
CANCUN 007

For my 10th year wedding anniversary my husband and I decided to go to Mexico. My first choice would have been Italy. My husband’s first choice would have been Hawaii. Both were very expensive. We opted to go the swine flu route and planned a trip to Mexico.

Mexico was CHEAP. For $1,300 both my husband and I were able to fly to Cancun and stay in an all-inclusive resort. Just our plane tickets to fly to Florida to book a cruise were about that.

Oh… we booked our trip through cheapcarribean.com in case you were wondering.

Cancun was HOT. Cancun was HUMID. Even the ocean was hot. I would take showers in “cold” water, but it was still warm.

Our resort, Grand Oasis Caribbean Resort, was fine. I hear that the resorts farther south from where we were are nicer, but it was perfectly fine. I read a lot of reviews on Travel Advisor, and half of them were negative. I am beginning to think the people that made those reviews were extra picky. The hotel was hot, but so is everywhere in the Caribbean. The air conditioner in our room worked great. The service was exceptional. Anytime I was in the vicinity of a worker they would stop and greet me. So polite.

When we went to our room the first day my husband realized he had LOST HIS PASSPORT. An employee of the hotel called the airport for us, and they were going to look and call the hotel back. Well the airport didn’t call back. The next morning a representative from cheapcarribean.com named George called his coworkers at the airport and they tracked down the passport. They even delivered it to George who in turn delivered it to us. Thanks again George!

Now let me tell you about some of the people we met in Cancun. We met two cool chicks from New York on vacation for a 30th birthday. Mayra and Carlixta were there names. We consumed a lot of beer with them. A lot of tequila too. I can thank Ernesto the bartender for that. This picture was taken right after I told him I didn’t want any tequila. He said, “I don’t care.” And then he poured me a shot of tequila. It didn’t matter how long the drink line was. If I asked for a drink he would get it for me first. Tipping goes a LONG way.

For one of our excursions, Max and I went to see Chichen Itza. It was amazing. I have to put it on par with seeing Stonehenge. People talk about feeling energy. I definitely did. My tour was AMAZING. It was run by Olympus Tours. They picked us up at our hotel in the morning and then gave us coffee, fruit and bread. Later that day they were giving us Coronas and sodas. Never before have I had such great service on a tour. Two of the four tour guides were even Mayan. They were so enthusiastic about everything and it really showed. I learned more about the Mayans and other Mexicans in one day than I have ever in my entire life. Who knew it wasn’t the Mayans who did the sacrifices? Until the tour I had no idea.

After Chichen Itza the tour took us to a cenote to swim. It is basically a huge hole in the ground that connects to the underground rivers. It was very refreshing, beautiful, and also kind of creepy. Some of these cenotes were used to sacrifice.

My husband and I also decided to go snorkeling. We were also supposed to go scuba diving, but had problems finding the tour. Anyways, the snorkeling was great as well. They took us out 3 times to the reef, and they even fed us. Oh, they also gave us as much beer as we wanted. I love Mexico. I saw: two rays, tons of random fish, brain coral, an octopus, a starfish, a hermit crab, conch shells, a box fish, and a jelly fish. Luckily I didn’t see a shark. /whew

My advice to anyone who is going to visit Mexico anytime soon is to take a lot of $1 bills. We would have spent a lot less money and tipped way more if we had. No one seemed to have change. Also learn how to haggle. It is annoying, but you really can talk them down. I am not sure if I got any “good” deals on the few things I brought back, but I know I didn’t get “bad” deals.
