time for a change
i’m embarking on a quest to lose 20 pounds my friends.
i know…several may say things like this:
“oh, jess! you don’t need to lose weight!”
oh but i do. i just know how to hide the fatness with the right clothes. and lipo in a box. and spanx.
“but you look great.”
but i don’t. trust me. have you seen me naked? WHAT? YOU HAVE??? the truth is that while i don’t look awful, i don’t look great. and furthermore, i don’t FEEL great. and that’s what is important.
“well, you have had two kids…” Balto psp
this excuse was good about 6 years ago. jenna turns 7 this month. what is my excuse for that?
“i hope i look as good as you when i’m 31!”
um, thanks, i think. did you just call me old? or thin? cuz i’m not sure…
“my sister hasn’t had ANY kids and she’s twice your size.”
and your sister is probably as unhappy as i am.
the truth is..tons of clothes that used to fit nicely and/or loosely just don’t anymore. i feel frumpy. i’m happy as ever in my life…but my gut is yuk.
it’s time to drop some poundage. today, i weigh 159 pounds. i’ll keep you posted on my progress. and maybe i should try to get a picture…
p.s. miller lite, i’ll miss you, but i’m confident i’ll be back for a visit every now and then when my gut has experience significant shrinkage.

Good luck Jess, hope it all works out for you. I need to lose weight too, but I need to lose about 40lbs. I gained a lot since I moved out her to VA. Camille makes sure that I eat 3 meals a day instead of just one/
I think you will notice a huge change if you substitute water for beer. Beer has a lot of calories. Good luck. I feel your pain. i keep losing the SAME 20 pounds OVER and OVER and OVER…

Jess I am with you!!! I’m on a mission myself to shed some poundage. This Wisconsin beer and cheese diet is killing me!
I’ve been working on this for about a month now. I found when I went veg that helped a bit. Cutting out the fatty meat has made a difference and it pretty much cuts out any fast food. My sister did weight watchers and sent me some of her stuff. In the end I’ve decided that portion control is my best friend. It’s seems to be working too. I’ve lost about 4 pounds so far.

nan - i don’t substitute beer for water, LOL…and i don’t drink every day.
blc - 33?!?! you better start eating prunes and shopping for a walker. make sure your calcium levels are up, too. we don’t want you breaking a hip. har har.
luann - i don’t eat much meat anyway, but i like things like oh, butter. ice cream. sour cream. chips. cheese. beer.
cricket - it sucks. it really does. and i’ll try to blog about it alot.

I’ll admit it. I weigh 156. I plan on getting down to 135 before too long. /sigh
No beer for me either. I did have ONE at lunch today. I’ll have more at your wedding, but none until then.
