movie review: juno

Published by jess at 8:02 am under jess

.!.

**i don’t get paid to review movies. if i did, i probably wouldn’t be a blogger.**

what a lovely movie “juno” is. if you haven’t seen it, you should run right out and watch it right now! it’s got a great soundtrack and it’s heartwarming.

while the lead character, juno (portrayed by ellen page), steals the show, i absolutely ADORE the supporting cast of jk simmons and allison janney as her father and stepmother. jennifer garner and jason bateman are also fabulous in their roles as adoptive parents who obviously are miserably married. AND…i love the name liberty bell for a kiddo. i might name my next pet that!!

i don’t want to ruin the movie or give away too much, so i’ll leave it at that. it’s a simple movie that everyone can relate to in some fashion… it’s funny, it’s sad, it’s super.

i hope you love it as much as i did.

(and thanks, bridge…)

Stumble it!

“I’m already pregnant, what other shenanigans could I be up to?”

How could you NOT love a movie that has that line in it??

My wife and I both loved it. I’m beginning to think that indie studios are going to start using the power of the Interweb to bypass the whole “need a major distributor” thing in the near future. And that smells like awesome.

I have wanted to see this for a while. And I got a movie theater gift card for my b-day so it won’t even cost Craig money. He has no excuse now!

I saw it because Ellen Page is from my neck of the woods (despite being gay, I fell in love with her for her Letterman interview where she talks about translucent sluts and greased poles among other things - oh, Nova Scotia), and I loved it. I was also great to see an Arrested Development mini reunion, even is Justin Bateman was creepy and Michael Cera can really only play George Michael. I want my AD movie!

i assumed Juno was directed by the same guy that directed Knocked Up because it’s about an unexpected pregnancy, and Michael Cera stars as Juno’s boyfriend (he was one of the goofy kids from Superbad, a close relative of Knocked Up), but it turns out this is not the case

George Michael is also a great singer and was quite famous in the 80’s era.;`*
